I prefer emails over calling.
I like to have an initial phone conversation with a client to meet you and get an understanding of what you need done. From there, I like emailing to communicate. Emails are easier for me to respond to, and they also keep a record of our conversations so nothing can be lost in translation.
(When it comes to extensive calling, I charge $30 / hr for phone conversations (not including initial contact) - but email is completely free. )
I check my email once every hour.
